Add Equipment Into Retti

Create equipment records that can be assigned to tasks and shown in Workload.

Use this when

  • You want to schedule equipment alongside people
  • You need to track where a specific asset is assigned
  • You want equipment to be available for default crew setup or task-level assignment

Quick answer

Each piece of equipment is tracked as its own record.

Example:

  • Pump 1
  • Pump 2
  • Laser 1

Do not treat equipment as a quantity bucket if you need to schedule specific assets.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Resources
  2. Open Equipment
  3. Click Add Resource
  4. Enter the equipment details:
    • Equipment Name
    • Specialties, if used
    • Default foreman, if needed
    • Internal ID, if used
    • Division, if your company uses divisions
  5. Save the equipment record

Important rules

  • Equipment is scheduled as its own resource type
  • Equipment can be assigned to tasks alongside crew
  • Equipment can be added to a default crew
  • Equipment does not auto-add an operator or person
  • Each equipment item is tracked individually

Common mistakes

  • Creating one record for many physical assets
  • Expecting equipment to send text or push notifications
  • Assuming equipment will auto-link to a person
